After graduating from high school, I attended and graduated from Texas Tech in Lubbock. My husband, Bill,and I married March 30, 1962 over Spring break. I taught school in Lubbock after I graduated in Jan. of 1962 while my husband finished a five year engineering program in May of the same year.

After graduation, we moved to Arlington, TX where I taught school for 6 yrs and Bill worked as an aeronautical engineer at Ling,Temco Vaught. Our daughter, Ashley, was born in 1967 in Arlington. We then moved to Plano, TX where I taught for 1 yr. My husband was transferred to Houston where we lived until 1976 when we moved to Edmond, OK. Bill worked for Dresser Industries about ten years until he started an Engineering Consulting firm here in Edmond. He still works, but has the option of taking only the jobs that he wants. I went back to school in the '80's and did one and 1/2 yrs. in graduate study and accounting. I worked for several firms as an accountant before taking a job with a computer software company as a support and training specialist on the accounting end of the software. The last seven years with the company I worked as Director of Training and Support. I retired last year after 20 years with that company.

My daughter and her family live very close to us and we have the joy of seeing them frequently. We have one grandson, Karsten, who is our pride and joy. He is ten and, of course,"smart as a whip." Karsten, enters fifth grade at St. Mary's Episcopal School in Edmond and is very involved with baseball, fencing and drama when not in class. He appeared in “Oklahoma” last year and really had a great time acting. Our son-in-law, Jeff, fits in so well with our family. He is with AT&T as Regional Manager of Technical Installation and is working on his Masters degree in Christian Counseling which he hopes to do when he retires from AT & T in a few more years. Our daughter Ashley graduated from OU in 1989. She began working with Southwestern Bell in the Information Systems department after graduation. She left after five years and worked for a computer technical equipment company for a number of years before going back to SBC which then became AT&T. She quit AT&T to start her own company, Ink Communications, L.L.C., She loves her work and has been recognized for her skills with a number of awards within the Oklahoma City area.

Other than work, Bill and I stay busy with church activities, maintaining our home and yard. I especially like to dig around in flower beds and plant beautiful flowers and shrubs. Bill says he just moves them around when I decide to move them to a different location. Bill likes golf and I try to play now and then.

Bill and I like to travel and during our early years of marriage, decided that there were several places we would really like to see--Australia, Alaska and France. We have managed to do all three. Several years ago we went on a cruise to Alaska. The most recent trip was this spring to France. We traveled to Australia and New Zealand last year. We've tried to visit almost all of the United States. However, we still lack a few. Hopefully, we have enough time to see all the other places that we want to visit.
